JMCC added two important new contributors to our executive team earlier this year: Richard Jim Kijewski as Global Head of Security in January, and John O’Neill (left in photo) as Global Head of Logistics & Distribution.
John O’Neill was founder and President of J.P. Enterprises Logistics Corporation. Established in 1985, J.P. Logistics’ original focus was as a distribution centre for major Canadian retailers, but which grew over the years to become a major international packaging, warehousing, logistics and supply-chain management company.
Today, JP Logistics operates warehousing facilities at 26 strategic points across North America, in Europe and in China. The company built its success on development and application of technology, such as its proprietary warehousing management system, to deliver efficient, cost-effective and highly customized logistics services to customers such as “Canada’s National Department Store”, the Hudson’s Bay Company, as well as Target, Walmart, American Eagle Outfitters, and the Bombay Company. JP Logistics now serves a variety of business sectors, including health care, food, jewelry and a wide range of industrial products.
John is a graduate of Toronto’s York University. His role with JMCC includes the development and implementation of a state-of-the-art, ultra-secure, packaging, warehousing and international distribution system for JMCC medical cannabis.
Jim (KJ) Kijewski brings over 35 years of professional security, intelligence and law enforcement expertise to his role in assessing needs and managing security for JMCC operations worldwide.
Jim served with the Toronto Police Services Board from 1974 until 2007, including several years in Narcotics as a Squad Supervisor, where he was responsible for the timely execution of search warrants, surveillance and undercover investigations for the interception of narcotics and case preparation. Later, he worked in the Intelligence Section, in VIP/Executive Protection for international and domestic visiting dignitaries, where he was involved in creating and implementing security plans for official visits of foreign heads of state to Canada, including those by members of the British royal family, U.S. presidents and Pope John Paul II while working in joint-forces operation with the R.C.M.P. and O.P.P.
Jim also conducted investigations relating to terrorism and counter-terrorism, conducted threat risk assessments (TRA), and was responsible for developing security plans for major events impacting d the City of Toronto, Province of Ontario and Canada. He served as Toronto Police Liaison Officer responsible for international assistance to Interpol H.Q. as well as the consular corps in Toronto. Jim was assigned to work with a New York Policy Department counterpart to provide intelligence regarding mutual concerns between the two cities since 9-11.
Following his retirement with the TPSB, Jim served as Chief Operating Officer with the Reilly Group of Companies, a Canadian-based security and risk management services provider, and, as a consultant, provided consulting services executive protection, TRAs, security reviews, security event planning and private investigations to a variety of private-sector organizations.
We’re delighted to add these two superbly qualified professionals to JMCC’s executive team. Together with our existing management talent in Jamaica and Canada, we’re building an incredible cohort of talented leaders committed to taking the company forward in pursuit of our goal of becoming the premier provider of high-quality medical cannabis to the world.
